A pair of newlyweds found their “something blue” with Capt. Olivia Benson.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay was filming a scene in downtown Manhattan on Thursday when she spotted the couple posing for photos outside the New York County Supreme Court. The actress — in full Olivia Benson wardrobe — hopped in the picture, standing beside the groom and excitedly pointing to the man and his blushing bride.
As the trio smiled for the cameras, onlookers held up their phones to capture the “only in New York” moment.

Mariska Hargitay poses with unidentified newlyweds on ‘SVU’ set in Manhattan on Oct. 1, 2026.
The couple has yet to be identified, but having their wedding photo shoot crashed by Hargitay surely must be a sign of good luck.
The actress has been busy filming the NBC procedural’s upcoming 28th season, which is set to premiere on Oct. 8. Last week, she reunited on the set with her character’s former partner, Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), who will guest star on SVU’s 600th episode on Nov. 12.
Could the fan-favorite’s return extend beyond a one-off appearance? “I’m not going to tell all,” Hargitay teased during an interview with New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson on Sept. 24.
However, the actress could not contain her excitement to be working with Meloni again, 15 years after he departed SVU in 2011.
Hargitay shared two glimpses of Meloni back on the SVU set with her Instagram followers.
“WHO DAT,” she captioned the first, a photo of the back of the actor’s recognizable bald head. She followed it up with a smiling selfie of the two, along with the cryptic caption, “Happy 600…,” the ellipsis suggesting Meloni might appear on more than one episode.
Talk of the L&O veteran returning to SVU began shortly after the April 2026 cancellation of his spinoff, Law & Order: Organized Crime. Hargitay admitted the news made her “burst out in tears.” The actress told Extra she hoped “somehow, some way” she would share the screen again with her longtime friend and costar.
“That is a very heartening thing for both of us, that our relationship was so iconic culturally, and that Benson and Stabler still resonates is deeply meaningful to me,” Hargitay told Deadline. “I love Chris and I love acting with Chris, so I’m always open to working with him and getting Benson and Stabler together. They’re happiest when they’re together.”
